Me-2-We Events
Friday Night Courts
Me-2-We Board committed to restarting the long running Friday Night Courts (FNC) shortly after the pandemic. FNC has operated at the Sports Center for 12+ years. FNC is primarily aimed at youth 14-22 but many parents and other adults participate as well. On average 100+ youth attend each week.
Saturday Night Courts
Saturday Night Courts (SNC) is Me-2-We’s newest event, beginning July 9, 2022, in response to the overwhelming demand from Valley youth for even more recreational time. SNC began on one of the hottest days of the summer and 50 youth attended the first night with only word of mouth advertising. Me-2-We’s Board fully expects SNC participation to match Friday Night Court averages, 100+/night, within the first year of operating.
Sunday Family Night Courts
The Me-2-We Board is also excited about the possibility of a new community event called Sunday Family Night Courts (SFNC). The need exists in the Mat-Su Valley for less expensive, indoor, recreational activities for young families, especially during the long winter months. Most options in the Mat-Su Borough offering similar programming to Sunday Family Night Courts are not as affordable for the target families or doesn’t exist at all.
Sunday Family Night Courts will occur each week from 6-9pm and will be hosted at the beautiful and spacious Sports Center, located in the center of the Mat-Su Valley. The Sports Center’s five full-sized basketball courts will be transformed into activity areas for families to play together.
The Board of Me-2-We believes that Sunday Family Night Courts is an immediately viable project as it can be implemented as soon as funding for court rental is secured because the Sports Center’s management is supplying the staffing, equipment and supplies necessary for operation and the business community is donating other necessary supplies.
